The Nature Trail
Wentworth Falls

Click The Nature Trail

Saturday April 19 - 9.45 am at church for 10.00 start.

This walk is a very nice one in the Wentworth Falls area.

As we traverse the trail there are many sights to see including gentle streams and small water falls.

  • There is also a nice hidden water-fall which we discovered the last time we walked the trail.
  • The bird and animal life along the trail is quite extensive and I remember seeing black cockatoos, new holland honey eaters, and many small fairy wrens the last time I walked the trail.
  • The trail has some open exposed areas which give great views of the valley below .
  • The trail is an interesting mix but please note there are a lot of steps up and down at a number of spots along the way.

NOTE :-

Just a note on walking speed.

  • I try to set a medium walk speed so that everyone can enjoy each walk and get the full benefit from a mix of exercise and viewing the sights around us.
  • I would appreciate it if all walkers would try to keep up with the person in front of them so we do not have to keep stopping for folk to catch up.
  • If you need to stop for whatever reason let me know and I will be happy to stop the whole group.

It would help if you could give me a call on 02-4736 3556 (Especially on Tuesday and Thursday) at the church you can catch me there on those days - or at other times leave a message.. so I know who to expect.

On the day you can reach me on 0422 151 257.

PREPARATION :-

Wear comfortable clothing and remember that it can get cold up the mountains so put a jumper in your backpack just in case. Good walking shoes or boots are strongly recommended for this walk.

  • Bring a packed lunch and water to drink..
  • A camera is recommended as there are some wonderful views to be seen.

HOW TO GET THERE :-

Allow about 45 mins for the journey from Penrith.

  • Follow the Great Western Highway until you arrive at Wentworth Falls.
  • At the second set of traffic lights at Wentworth Falls turn left into Falls Road.
  • Follow the road until you reach Fletcher Street and turn right here.
  • Fletcher Street is also signposted "Valley of the Waters".
  • Further down you will come to a fork in the road and you should bear left here.
  • About 50 yards or so down this road you will come to the car park on your right, this is where we will meet.
  • If you end up on a large circular road near a large picnic area you have missed Fletcher Street - follow the circular road round and come back the way you have just come.

TIME FOR WALK :-

The walk will take about 3 hours including rest and lunch breaks.

  • The grade is medium/hard due to stepped sections along the trail.
  • In the event of heavy rain the walk will be postponed.

Hope to see you on the day ............ Ray
